Meet our Team

Dr. Jessica Wilson

DVM

Dr. Jessica Wilson is a native New Yorker and a 2010 graduate of Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine in St. Kitts. She completed her clinical year of training at the University of Minnesota and completed a residency in dentistry and oral surgery at VCA Alameda East in Denver, Colorado. Shortly after completing her residency, Dr. Wilson moved to southern California, where her interest in physical health and wellness developed. She began competing in local bodybuilding competitions and eventually earned professional bodybuilding status with the International Federation of Bodybuilding in 2015. Her veterinary focus shifted from dentistry and oral surgery to end-of-life care in 2017, working with a hospice and home euthanasia group. She joined the team of Brook-Ellis Pet Hospital in 2026 as a primary care veterinarian.

Dr. Aramburu received his doctor of veterinary medicine degree from Purdue University, College of Veterinary Medicine, a rigorous program in a major academic division of the university. Dr. Aramburu has been practicing small pet veterinary medicine since 1999 and has an extensive wealth of knowledge in geriatric and internal medicine.

When he’s not treating patients, Dr. Aramburu loves spending time outdoors with his three children. Dr. Aramburu loves spending time outdoors with his three children. Dr. A joined the South Coast Family in August 2017.

Dr. Shyenne Moore

DVM

Dr. Moore, originally from Carson, CA, earned her bachelor’s in animal science from California State University, Chico, in 2017. Before entering veterinary school in 2020, she gained valuable experience volunteering at a wildlife sanctuary in Northern California, working as a kennel attendant, and serving as a veterinary assistant. She completed her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine at Tuskegee University College of Veterinary Medicine (TUCVM). Dr. Moore’s deep passion for animals ensures that each patient receives exceptional care. Outside the clinic, she enjoys fishing, horseback riding, and spending time with friends at movies and music festivals. Her diverse interests and commitment to animal welfare make her a compassionate and well-rounded member of our veterinary team.

Dr. Lizzie Wood, DVM

Veterinarian

Dr. Elizabeth Wood obtained her undergraduate degrees in Ecology & Evolutionary Biology and Environmental Studies from the University of California Santa Cruz. She attended veterinary school at Western University of Health Sciences. She has experience working with small animals, exotics, wildlife, and zoo animals throughout California, Oregon, Washington D.C., Costa Rica, Namibia, and Midway Atoll. Dr. Wood deeply enjoys working with pets of all species. She is also very passionate about wildlife conservation and is the Medical Director at the Wetlands and Wildlife Care Center in Huntington Beach. She lives in Huntington Beach with her partner Patrick, their three dogs, and a California desert tortoise. She loves traveling, camping, kayaking, and outdoor adventures.

Dr. Ledesma grew up in Huntington Beach, she attended California State University Fullerton for her undergraduate studies. She spent one year at Ross University in St. Kitts and then completed the remainder of veterinary school at Virginia Tech where she graduated in 2015. She practiced in Northern Virginia for 5 years before coming back home to Huntington Beach.

 

She is passionate about preventative medicine, pain management, and internal medicine. She  is Fear Free Certified. Her interests outside of work include spending time outdoors with her family, being active, and reading. She lives in Huntington Beach with her husband and two children. They are currently looking for the perfect furry companion to join them.

Dr. Jennifer Dietz Kumar, VMD

Dr. Jen Dietz Kumar

Dr. Kumar completed her undergraduate at Wellesley
College, followed by her veterinary studies at University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia in 2009. She completed a rotating internship at Animal Surgical and Emergency Center in Los Angeles, then spent five years working as an emergency clinician at specialty hospital in Fountain Valley. She has owned South Coast Pet Hospital in Santa Ana since 2012, Baker Bristol Pet Hospital since 2017, Seacliff Animal Hospital in Huntington Beach since 2020, and Brook-Ellis Pet Hospital since 2021. She also volunteers as a member of the Board of Directors at Wetlands and Wildlife Care Center in Huntington Beach. She loves treating all animals but has a special interest in the care of exotic pets including rabbits and parrots. She lives in Huntington Beach with her husband and two daughters. She loves downhill skiing, eating lobster in her hometown of Boston, and traveling abroad with her family.

Sarah Vargas

Office Manager

Sarah has been part of the veterinary field since 2018 and brings years of experience from both animal and human healthcare. She graduated from Orange County Veterinary Assistant School RVT program in 2022 and loves being able to combine her passion for animals with helping clients feel supported and informed. When she’s not at the hospital, Sarah enjoys spending time with her German Shepherd, Lakoda, her son Christopher, and her husband, Shane. As a family, they love bike rides along the beach, listening to music, and swimming whenever they can.

Fidel began working at Brook-Ellis Pet Hospital in August of 1995. He started in the veterinary field through ROP classes in high school. When he isn’t at work, he enjoys fishing, BBQ’ing and archery. His favorite cat breed is the British Shorthair and his favorite breed of dog is the Brussels Griffon.

Technician

Alex is a passionate and upbeat veterinary technician who’s been working in vet med since 2020. She got her start at Platt College’s RVT program and is now continuing her education at OCVAS. At home, she’s the proud dog mom of two lovable pups, Aster and Delilah. When she’s not caring for animals at work, you can find her curled up with a good book, planning her next travel adventure, or spending time with her favorite humans (and dogs, of course!).

Abriana

Technician

Abriana is a dedicated veterinary assistant currently pursuing her veterinary technician license at Platt College. With a passion for animals that began early, she entered the veterinary field at 17 and has worked her way up from kennel attendant to receptionist, and now thrives in the treatment area as a skilled assistant. She shares her home with two cats, Frankenstein and Rob Zombie, and her beloved dog Pumpkin—who’s become a familiar face in the reception area. Outside of work, she enjoys reading books, attending music festivals and concerts, and traveling whenever she can. Her experience and love for animals continue to drive her forward in her veterinary journey.

Sarah has been working in veterinary medicine since she was 16 and joined the Brook-Ellis team as a receptionist in 2025. She graduated from Chapman University in May 2025 with B.A. degrees in Dance and Psychology and a minor in Organismal Biology. Sarah is now continuing her education at the University of Arizona, pursuing a B.S. in Biological Sciences. Her long-term goal is to attend veterinary school and specialize as a wildlife veterinarian in Africa or work in emergency medicine. Outside of work and school, Sarah loves traveling abroad and spending time with her two cats, Tigger and Sweetie.
